Opening Weekend // Making Reservations

Hey all,

Dustin here. I wanted to get in touch to share with all of our members and pass-holders to make sure you’re ready for opening weekend on February 5th.

As you might have gleaned from our recent Kickstarter updates, any illusions we had of our club starting small, then slowly reaching a healthy size have been dispelled! We already have an awesome community built around the space, and we’re so thrilled to get you inside. All the excitement has also come with opportunities for creative community engagement on opening weekend.

Getting in for your first game:

Here’s the plan.

  1. This Thursday (January 27th) we’ll send out a short survey via Kickstarter to anyone who made a pledge for day-passes or a membership. The survey will gather information like the name you’d like your pass or membership to be under, your contact information, and some bonus questions that will help us determine how to best fulfill the rewards you signed up for.

  2. Over the next week, we’ll use your responses from the survey to create your account in our reservation software, Flexbooker.

  3. February 1st, the booking system will become available via Waystone’s website, under the “Reserve A Table” button. You’ll be able to create a password and sign into Flexbooker using your email address, then reserve a table.

  4. If there are any obstacles that get in your way, just get in touch with us at info@waystonewargaming.com

Allowing as many people to experience the space as possible

We’re anticipating that a lot of folks will be excited to get a game in at Waystone during our first couple of weekends, so we’ll be doing a few things to make sure that as many members and pass-holders as possible get to experience the space, and then once things slow down, we’ll open up the booking options a little more.

  • We’re encouraging everyone to play with other members and pass-holders rather than inviting guests. This will help us make sure that for these first two weekends, as many direct supporters as possible get to experience it as early as possible. The best way to meet other members who are eager to make connections and play a game at the space is on our Discord

  • Table reservations will be limited to 4 hours on opening weekend. This will be enough for a focused 2,000 pt. game. or a relaxed 1,000 pt. game. In the future, 2,000 pt. bookings will be for 5 hours. After our first couple of weekends, we plan on making it so that tables can be booked much more flexibly (i.e. on the hour, or half-hour).

  • The Studio Room will be a hobby space. We’re hoping that this will be a bit of a revolving door so that people can have a chance to come in, order a drink, meet some folks and get acquainted with the space even if they don’t have a big game scheduled. The studio room’s space is limited, so please still use the booking system.

  • If you can, wait until after opening weekend to schedule a game. If you’d like, we can even delay the activation of your account until a specified date so that you’ll still get the most out of your month or year-long membership as possible. Just shoot us an email.

Safety

As a small space run by two people, a breakout could have a big impact on our club, so we’re going to do everything we can to prevent the spread of COVID while also maintaining the comfortable, inviting atmosphere that has been central to the idea of the space.

Following government instruction, we’ll be requiring everyone who plans to hang out or play a game at Waystone to show proof of vaccination. We also encourage everyone to have their boosters. Lastly, we encourage everyone to double-mask or have a single robust surgical mask like a KN95 (we have a bunch at the club), and to keep their masks on when not actively imbibing one of the speakeasy’s delicious drinks.

I hope this has been helpful! Stefan and I, as well as our partners and our close friends are all working hard to make this a fun and smooth opening weekend. We’re so excited to see people inside having a good time and rolling the ol’ dice.

Cheers
-Dustin
